Following PUBG, Fortnite, and Diablo’s footsteps, Industry giants Activision and Tencent are partnering up to create a new Call of Duty mobile game for both Android and iOS.
Over the past few months, gameplay footage of the beta has been popping up all over the internet. The game is currently planned for release exclusive to China only. It will be developed by Timi Studios, the same studio that made one of the two versions of PUBG for mobile.
Looking at gameplay footages, It isn’t just a simple port of any Call of Duty title like PUBG or Fortnite. Instead it will be a full new game similar to Diablo Immortal, taking inspiration from previous games and making a brand new experience for the mobile platform, with pretty impressive console-like graphics. It will directly compete with current popular ‘COD clones’ like Modern Combat, and Modern Strike.
It will feature the some of the most popular maps from the series such as Nuketown, Killhouse, Shipment and Crash. It looks like it will have different classes to choose from. The gameplay and UI elements feels very much like a COD game and It will also include another series staple: Zombies. It is unknown yet if it will have a battle royale AKA Blackout game mode.
